View Full Version : Create folders / append data definition?

What exactly does append data mean? Does it mean that if
I activate this audit option then every time someone adds
data to an existing data, it will show up in the event
log? I just want to track moves or deletes of folders,
not data changes. Will choosing to apply this to folders
and subfolders get me what I need?

It [append data] applies to files only and means the user has permission to append
data to the end of an existing file but not changing, deleting, or modifying
"existing" data in a file. If you apply it to folders and subfolders only then the
"create folders" permission would be the only permissions audited. The link below may
