View Full Version : Remote Windows Install

JDB
If I have admin access to a remote W2K machine, is there any way I can
somehow run a local process to install a program who's exe file is on that
remote machine?

If not with any built-in method, is there a tool that would facilitate this?
I'm not really looking for a VNC remote access application unless the server
piece can be also be installed remotely (I have too many machines that I
need to do this with that are spread too far apart to locally install a
remote access server on each one).

Thanks

Are you running Active Directory? You can deploy software packages using
Group Policy Objects:

I don't know if this will help for the applications you need but you can get
access to a remote computers command line and such with psexec which is free
for SysInternals. Anyhow it is a very handy tool. -- Steve

If these Windows 2000 machines are servers, don't overlook
Term Services / Remote Desktop Client. It may provide the
functionality you need.
