View Full Version : Windows 2000 password that has expired

YVelazq712@aol.com
My 13 yr old son created a password to log on to our home
computer (Windows 2000). His password has now expired,
and system prompts us to create a new password. The
problem is that my son cannot remember his old password.
He hasn't used the computer for a couple of months. How
can I get in there to change or delete the old password.
(I have tried just about every possible password to no
avail.) Please advise.

Logon as Administrator, or a user that is a member of the Administrators group.
Open a CMD.EXE prompt.
Assuming that your son's user name is "Forgetfull", them type:

net user "Forgetfull" TheNewPassword

and press enter.
