View Full Version : All windows related (Task manager, registry edit etc.) programs auto close

Every time I try and open a program related to windows,
such as task manager, or registry edit, it will
automatically close very quickly. I'm without any idea
how to get rid of this and it's becoming a real pain not
being able to use many windows applications. If you have
any knowledge related to this a reply would be greatly
appreciated.

Dave
you are infected with a virus or worm. agobot/gaobot and some others do
this.

Hi

This might be the work of the Swen worm or something similar
(it could be from some spyware or parasite as well).

To try to solve your problem, do the following:

Run a cleanup tool, e.g. Stinger.exe from McAfee, it removes 30+
most common virus/worms in one sweep.

McAfee AVERT Stinger

Be sure to run an updated Antivirus program at all times.

For the Spyware and Parasites part, you will need to run other tools:
