View Full Version : The Specified account name is not a member of the local group

I installed windows 2000 server. I added a user then
added that user to the administrators group. I now want
to remove the user from the administrators group, so that
it is just in the users group and I get this error....

The Specified account name is not a member of the local
group.

Sounds like that use may have been removed already. Look in Event Viewer for
any pertinent errors that may indicate the problem. You can use the command
" net localgroup administrators " and/or " net user username " to examine
the membership of a group and the groups that a user is a member of. ---
